The total solar eclipse will be coming through Texas soon! The eclipse will take place on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 12:20 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. in Bryan, Texas.
Bryan ISD will have a regular school day with regular hours on April 8. Many of our schools will be planning special activities to coincide with this special celestial event.
Thanks to a generous donation from E3 Entegral Solutions, EVERY student in Bryan ISD will be provided a special pair of eclipse glasses! Students will be required to wear these glasses to safely view the eclipse throughout the duration of the event. Because all of our Bryan ISD campuses and facilities are outside the path of totality, there is not any time when it will be safe to view the eclipse without wearing these special glasses. In Bryan and College Station, we will see a partial eclipse with the Moon covering 98.5% of the Sun from our view. The maximum coverage is expected at approximately 1:39 p.m. when we will see a crescent Sun. We are hoping for great weather to view the eclipse, but are closely watching the weather forecast.
Stay tuned to our Bryan ISD social media pages for updates on the day of the event!
